Our friends, collaborators and clients, Sally Fanjoy & James Labrenz, will be displaying their work in two separate solo shows at Gallery Pantone 278, and at the Modern Fabrics store in Charlotte’s South End design district. Fanjoy-Labrenz art photography is simply amazing and well worth the trip to see it in person. They take ordinary everyday scenery and transform it into vibrant and colorful paintings made with light, in a world of copycats, their work is most original.
Please join Sally and James at:
Gallery Pantone 278
Charlotte Trolley Powerhouse Museum
1507 Camden Road
Charlotte, NC
and just around the corner at:
Modern Fabrics Store
128 E Park Ave
Charlotte, NC
Thursday, August 6 and Friday August 7
6pm to 9pm
Refreshments will be served.

1000 Journals
Filed In Art Charlotte Design
I love journaling, and back in 2001 while working for Rick Valacenti at Thirst I was lucky enough to be part of the 1000 Journals Project. And now the 1000 Journal Project is coming to Charlotte, Raleigh and Columbia. Check out the AIGA site for more details and come to the lecture to get highly inspired.
The 1000 Journals project is following and documenting one thousand journals as they travel hand to hand throughout the globe. Each participant adds their entry to the journal and passes it on to whomever they choose. Some journals eventually make it back to the 1000 Journals headquarters, and are now part of the 1000 Journals Project book and DVD
and others, like the one I was a part of, are still in-transit.
The journals have traveled to 40 countries and through every US state. They’ve come to rest in hostels, cafes and law offices, been the subject of treasure hunts, brought to remote mountaintops, abandoned at airports and stolen at gunpoint. Check out http://www.1000Journals.com for more information on the project and to be a part of it.

BOOM!
Filed In Announcements Charlotte
I want to thank the academies, and the AIGA… The website we recently designed for Jim Genell was selected as a winner of the fifth annual AIGA BOOM! design competition. We’re not sure what place we won just yet, that will be disclosed at the award ceremony, but we did compete against the best design shops in North and South Carolina, so any award is a big achievement to us.
The winning piece will be presented to the public at the BOOM! Gala on April 4 at 7:00 pm at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte. Winning entries are included in an exhibition book and will be part of an exhibition that will travel to Charlotte and Raleigh this summer.
We invite you to attend the Gala with us, all details can be found at boomshow.org, or view the traveling show this summer.
You can read all about our winning entry in our December blog.
UPDATE: We won the Silver! Considering the competition we are very happy to have placed so high. We want to thank the Charlotte AIGA for putting on such a great event.
